The 6 Things You Should Insist on From a Construction Supplier

Everyone wants a great deal but most construction companies understand that the lowest prices isn’t always the best deal. When you work with Grove Hardware, you can count on competitive prices but we bring a lot more to the table. Read on to learn about the six things we believe every client should be able to expect from their construction supplier.

  1. They must be experienced and confident
  2. One way to tell if a company you’re considering working with is to see how they react after you answer their questions about what you’re building. If they recommend a bag of grout or other supply without first asking what the specific application is, then they’re not the right company. After all, grout needed for a structural defect in a new build versus grout used for a cosmetic fix are two very different building materials. You want a company like Grove Hardware that won’t just tell you what to do, but will be a partner who can help you find the right supplies for your unique needs.

  3. You need a supplier who’s neutral
  4. At Grove Hardware, we are proud to stock a wide range of job site supplies, tools, tie downs, etc. from numerous manufacturers. While there are some manufacturers we trust more than others in certain aspects of the construction industry, we are in the end neutral. We offer options and not tied to one manufacturer.

  5. Customer service is not a thing of the past
  6. The best supplier won’t staff their store with part-time employees who are experienced in retail but don’t know the first thing about hardware. We will work to gain your trust and we value your satisfaction over a quick sale. If we know of a better product or a better way, we will not hesitate to tell you.

  7. Delivery options that work for you
  8. You’re busy. You don’t have time to spend working out the logistics of a delivery. At Grove Hardware we are open earlier than our competitors so that you can stop by on your way to the job site. Our delivery schedule is flexible to your needs. We know that getting equipment, supplies, and tools too early can be a huge headache, and getting them late can set everything back.

  9. Reliability is essential
  10. You want a company that doesn’t have to order everything you need. You want a company who has most of what you need in stock, and if they do need to order something, they’re honest with you about turnover times. You’ll find that some our competitors keep their prices low by offering a lot of items they don’t have in stock. They then order it after you’ve paid for it, and any delay or cancelation from their supplier could cause a huge problem. We don’t do this.

  11. You need a company that’s accountable
  12. Is any company perfect? Of course not. At Grove Hardware, we’re proud of the many years we’ve been in this business and we’d be lying if we said we never made a mistake. What’s also true is that we own up to our mistakes and are accountable for them. We learn from our mistakes and we make things right.
